Barcelona, Spain hosted an opera concert titled "Heroes of Victory". The concert was dedicated to the centenary of Heydar Aliyev, founder of modern Azerbaijan, as well as to November 8th - Victory Day and November 9th - Flag Day.

Employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Spain, representatives of the local community, Azerbaijanis and mass media representatives attended the event, organized through the joint efforts of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, "Society of Azerbaijanis in Barcelona" and Azerbaijan House in Barcelona.

The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Spain were sung, the dear memory of great leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country, were commemorated with a minute’s silence.

Then, a video-roll dedicated to the Victory Day was screened.

Speaking before the start of the concert, Ramiz Hasanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Spain, Karim Karimov, head of the "Association of Azerbaijanis in Barcelona" and Azerbaijani House in Barcelona, congratulated our compatriots on the occasion of the Victory Day, engraved in  our history with golden letters.

The importance of the visionary policy founded by the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev and continued by the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev was highlighted. The full restoration of our territorial integrity by our glorious Army, raising of the National Flag of Azerbaijan and holding the Victory Parade in Khankendi were proudly emphasized.

Then, People's Artist Fidan Hajiyeva performed a concert program, and national and Spanish dance groups performed dances.
