Professor of Neurology at the University of Copenhagen, Head of the International Headache Society, Director of the Human Migraine Research Unit, professor Dr. Mesud Ashina awarded 8 million euros of the Danish National Research Foundation (DNRF). This award will be used for establishing of the Migraine Discovery Center.

In 2020, President Ilham Aliyev appointed Mesud Ashina to the Board of Trustees of the “YAŞAT” Foundation.  Mesud Ashina has also been honored with the “Heydar Aliyev 100th Anniversary (1923-2023)” medal for his services in diaspora activities, as awarded by President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

His research, recognized with a 5 million euros grant from the Lundbeck Professor Program, has significantly advanced the search for new treatments for headaches. In 2021, Ashina was awarded the TÜBA International Academy Prize in Turkey.
