Azerbaijani diaspora at a new stage of development

In recent years, intensive meetings with Azerbaijani communities abroad and the existence of concrete mechanisms have given a significant boost to the development of the diaspora. The diaspora development concept and the principles of activity in accordance with the global world order were discussed at the meeting of Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the Azerbaijani community in Hungary. The meeting held within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty”, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Glorious Victory in the Patriotic War. The assembly commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by honoring the dear memory of the martyrs who sacrificed the lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
He emphasized that the diaspora policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev meets the requirements of the modern era and further accelerates the unity of Azerbaijanis around the world. The Chairman also provided information about the Committee’s projects.
Tahir Taghizadeh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Hungary, highly appreciated the efforts of the diaspora. He noted that the process of community strengthening has accelerated.
Ibrahim Safarli, Head of the Azerbaijan House in Budapest, delivered a report on the work carried out to strengthen ties within the community and between the community and the local society, and expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for the support provided.
Members of the community noted that the Azerbaijani diaspora has entered a new stage of development and highlighted its achievements in socio-political spheres. They also touched upon issues related to brain drain and brain gain and offered suggestions for the future.
In addition to compatriots, Hungarian students studying the Azerbaijani language at the weekend school of the Azerbaijan House also participated in the community meeting.
At the event, our compatriots were presented the “For Services in Diaspora Activities” medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The meeting concluded with an artistic program featuring performances by diaspora members.
