The meeting was held with Saadat Karimi at State Committee on Work with Diaspora. Besides being a docent of Goteborg University, translator and writer, Saadat Karimi chairs Sweden-based Azerbaijani diaspora organization - “Gobustan” Azerbaijan Intellectual’s Hearth.

After welcoming the guest Vagif Seyidbayov, Deputy Chairman of State Committee on Work with Diaspora, highly praised the works done by “Gobustan” Azerbaijan Intellectual’s Hearth and personally by Saadat Karami. “Gobustan” Azerbaijan Intellectual’s Hearth unites around Azerbaijani scholars living in Sweden and propagating the history and literary heritage of Azerbaijan aboard.

Saadat Karimi was awarded the medal “For Service in Diaspora Activity” of the Republic of Azerbaijan for her contributions to the development of the Azerbaijani diaspora. She thanked to the Republic of Azerbaijan for being highly appreciated.

The meeting focused on the discussion of the future projects and current situation of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Sweden.
