The 2nd Forum of the Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe held

The 2nd Forum of Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe was held in Cologne, Germany. The forum, titled “Prospects for Artificial Intelligence and Energy Exchange between Azerbaijan and Europe,” was organized by the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany with the support of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijan Diaspora under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany were performed, and the cherished memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our homeland was honored.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the First Forum of Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe and Head of the Board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany, Altay Rustamli delivered the opening speech. He emphasized the importance of the forum in fostering unity and collaboration among engineers.

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, noted that the forum serves as an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as for strengthening cooperation. He spoke about the state’s care and attention toward the diaspora, stating: “Regardless of where they live, every compatriot of ours remains at the center of attention of the Azerbaijani state. The diaspora policy defined by President Ilham Aliyev in line with modern challenges encourages the activities of our compatriots, including their contributions to cultural and scientific diplomacy. As for the forum, I would like to emphasize that the Forum of Azerbaijani Engineers Living in Europe creates opportunities for the efficient use of their intellectual potential, the generation of new ideas, and the development of joint initiatives. As the Committee, we continue to support our compatriots abroad and to create real opportunities for their growth and advancement.”

Samir Rzayev, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Federal Republic of Germany,  Sanan Tapdigov, Member of the Board of the Intellectual Property Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Tahir Khalilov, Chairman of the United Water Supply Service of Major Cities, and Rashad Khaligov, Deputy Chairman of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, delivered speeches and highly appreciated the work of the forum.

A detailed video presentation was screened about the committee’s projects, particularly highlighting the purpose and significance of specialized forums.

During the forum, presentations were made on various topics, including the application of artificial intelligence in different fields, reading human emotions through artificial intelligence, ethical innovation in humanoid robotics, the perspective from Azerbaijan toward Europe, and several other areas.

Elkhan Richard Sadigzade, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the II European Forum and specially appointed professor at Korea University, Sonabayim Huseynzade, Chairperson of the “Women in Engineering”, Rauf Abdullayev, an engineer at the Berlin Higher Medical School and the Berlin Higher Business School, as well as a number of renowned Azerbaijani engineers, scientists, and specialists from Europe, spoke about the importance of international cooperation, innovative initiatives, and scientific and technological exchange in engineering.

Professor Constanze Tschöpe from Germany’s Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems, who participated in the forum, stated that she hoped such events would further strengthen the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.

The forum, attended by about 200 Azerbaijanis and foreign guests from 16 European countries,  and 45 German cities, was moderated by Sabina Mammadova, Head of the “Mugham” German-Azerbaijani Music Society.

It should be noted that the State Committee on Work with Diaspora has been systematically organizing international forums of Azerbaijani scientists, doctors, engineers, youth, and students living abroad. This initiative has gained great appreciation from both the diaspora and the Azerbaijani public.
