“Arshin mal alan” on the Vancouver stage

The operetta “Arshin mal alan” by the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli was staged at the Terry Fox Theatre in Vancouver, Canada. The production was organized by the Tabriz Azerbaijani Music and Dance Ensemble, in cooperation with the Turkuaz Turkish Art and Culture Foundation, with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and EventTop Cloud Services.

The premiere of the performance, staged in a modern style with the participation of members of the “Tabriz” Azerbaijani Music and Dance Ensemble, brought together representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora and audiences from various nationalities.

The roles in the performance were played by Ilyas Ganjaviniya (Asgar), Cristina Rahimova (Gulchohra), Rovshan Taghiyev (Suleyman), Nasrin Attari (Asya), Mammad Peyghambari (Soltan bey), Nurgamar Peyghambari (Jahan khala), Leyla Karamzade (Telli), Said Shirazi (Vali), along with other members of the ensemble. The creative producer of the performance is Shervin Shadpur, the orchestra conductor is Polad Kashef, and the manager is Sahar Sharifiyan. Dressed in vibrant national costumes, the actors, dancers, and musicians delivered professional performances, that created an unforgettable experience for the audience. The performance was met with enthusiastic applause, with viewers highly appreciating the artistic excellence displayed on stage.

The staging of the immortal operetta “Arshin mal alan” written by Uzeyir Hajibayli in 1913, in Vancouver once again demonstrated that Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage transcends geographical boundaries and continues to attract significant interest from international audiences.

The event concluded with sincere expressions of gratitude and appreciation addressed to the organizers and performers.
