Another humanitarian aid was sent to the Malatya region of Türkiye

Fund for Support to Azerbaijan Diaspora sent another humanitarian aid to Malatya region of Türkiye. A truck carrying 2000 boxes of food products is expected to reach Malatya on April 7. Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in the Republic of Azerbaijan and AFAD together decided the list of needs.

Valeh Hajiyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Onju Gunesh, Secretary General of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan, Ekrem Abdullayev, Chairman of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora and others took part in the send-off ceremony.

Valeh Hajiyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, has told that from the first hours of the terrible earthquake, Azerbaijan stood by Türkiye and following the instructions of the President Ilham Aliyev, rescuers and humanitarian aid convoys were immediately sent to disaster regions under the motto “We are strong together!”.

Onju Gunesh touched upon Türkiye-Azerbaijan friendship and brotherhood ties and expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani leadership and Azerbaijani people for the support

It should be noted that Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora has provided the following assistance to the earthquake-damaged regions of Türkiye:

1. In April 2023, food aid to more than 2,600 families affected by the earthquake in Kahramanmarash together with the Federation of Türkiye-Azerbaijani Associations;

2. In August 2023, school materials and supplies for some 3000 first grade children in Hatay and surrounding regions;

3. In December 2023, humanitarian aid consisting of essential needs, due to the extreme cold weather in the Kahramanmarash.
