Adika Igbal, head of Azerbaijan Friendship Organization based in North Carolina, and diaspora activists visited Apex Town Mayor Jacques Gilbert on the occasion of Nowruz holiday.

Adika Igbal gave a brief information about Nowruz holiday and its traditions.  The Mayor was presented a main Nowruz attribute-khoncha (decorated tray) and a cherry blossom painting by Lala Bagyrzade, a member of the organization.

Jacques Gilbert, Mayor of Apex, in his turn, has congratulated our compatriots on the occasion of the holiday.

It should be noted that Mayor Jacques Gilbert has signed proclamations on the occasion of Day of Restoration of Independence and Victory Day of Azerbaijan.  February 26 was announced "Khojaly Remembrance Day" in Apex town by the proclamation signed by Mayor Jacques Gilbert on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide in 2022. Despite the pressure of the Armenians, he did not rescind the proclamations.
