A delegation headed by Tomris Azeri, head of the Azerbaijan Society of America (AAS) visited Azerbaijan

Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met with the delegation.

 

Before the meeting, the guests visited the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs.

The Committee chairman gave detailed information about the diaspora policy, the history of the formation of the Azerbaijani diaspora, the directions of the Committee's activities, new and important projects, and the visits of the diaspora members, foreign journalists and historians to Karabakh.

ASA's contribution to the diaspora activity, its role in conveying the Azerbaijani truth to the American society were highly appreciated at the meeting.

Tomris Azeri and other guests spoke about the cooperation of the Turkish-Azerbaijani diaspora in the United States, the participation of our diaspora in the social and political life of this country.

At the end of the meeting, Tomris Azeri was presented the medal "For service in Diaspora activity".

As part of the visit, the ASA delegation visited Shusha and met with several officials.

The delegation held meetings at the Ministry of Science and Education, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations, ADA University and the embassies of various countries in Azerbaijan.

ASA delegation headed by Tomris Azeri comprised of Seva Azimova, Nigar Panahova, executive director of the famous "Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company" Andrew Chiang, American journalist of Turkish origin, chief editor of "Turk of America" ​​magazine Jamil Ozyurt.

 

It should be noted that Azerbaijan Society of America was established 65  years ago.
