Warsaw Hosted Concert Dedicated to Independence Day

A musical event was held at the Warsaw National Philharmonic to mark the 108th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Poland with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister and a member of the Polish Council of Ministers, representatives of the government, the Sejm and the Senate, heads of diplomatic missions, representatives of academic, business, and media circles, religious community leaders, and members of the Azerbaijani diaspora living in Poland.

The event began with playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Poland.

Nargiz Gurbanova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Poland, described the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as an important historical event that resulted in the foundation of the first democratic republic in the Turkic and Muslim world. She noted that, despite its short existence, the republic took significant steps toward building strong state institutions and establishing a secular state based on the rule of law.

Speaking at the event, Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, conveyed the Committee Chairman’s holiday greetings to the participants. He noted that such events make an important contribution to the development of Azerbaijani-Polish friendship, the promotion of Azerbaijan’s national and cultural heritage, and the international dissemination of the country’s statehood traditions. He also emphasized that the development of modern Azerbaijan continues successfully under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, based on the strategic course established by National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

During the speeches, speakers highly appreciated the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora at preserving national identity, promoting Azerbaijani culture, and raising awareness of the realities of Azerbaijan among the local public.

Polish Minister Tomasz Siemoniak highlighted the history of friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland, stressing the importance of further strengthening bilateral relations. He noted Azerbaijan’s significant role in ensuring stability and security in the region and expressed satisfaction with the expansion of partnership between the two countries.

The event continued with a cultural program. Performances by the musical group “Seven Beauties” (Yeddi Gözəl), representing Turkic states, featured works from the rich musical heritage of Azerbaijan and other Turkic peoples, showcasing the shared values, historical ties, and spiritual unity of brotherly nations through the language of music.
