The second Azerbaijan House has been launched in Poland
24 February, 2024The opening ceremony of Azerbaijan House was held in Kraków, Poland.
First, the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Poland were played, and the memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Poland Nargiz Gurbanova, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps, Committee, Azerbaijani diaspora, local community attended the opening ceremony.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Poland, Nargiz Gurbanova, expressed her belief that the Azerbaijani House will bring together our compatriots living in Krakow and surrounding cities and will play a key role in the unification of Polish Azerbaijanis around a single platform.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Fuad Muradov, the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, pointed out that the Azerbaijan House, which has been operating since 2019 in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, plays an important role in the organization of our compatriots and in teaching the mother tongue and the history of Azerbaijan to Azerbaijani children who grow up far from their homeland. The chairman of the Committee congratulated our compatriots on the opening of the 2nd Azerbaijan House in Poland and has noted that this is a manifestation of our state's concern towards our compatriots living abroad. The chairman of the committee has mentioned that every year Azerbaijani houses and weekend schools are being opened all over the world in order to organize the Azerbaijanis living abroad more effectively in accordance with the recommendation of President Ilham Aliyev. The chairman called our compatriots to integrate into the social life of the country they live in, as well as to be more active in conveying the true voice of Azerbaijan to the world community. Activities of Azerbaijani houses, weekend schools operating under these houses, initiative of free legal assistance provided to Azerbaijanis were highly appreciated.
In his speech, Sedat Shamilli, the chairman of the Cultural Association of the World Azerbaijanis "Khari Bulbul", the coordinator of the Coordination Council of the Azerbaijanis of Poland, has noted that the news about the opening of the Azerbaijan House was greeted with joy by our compatriots living in Krakow and surrounding cities, and thanked our state for the attention and care shown towards the Azerbaijanis living abroad. Sedat Shamilli has emphasized that the Krakow Azerbaijani House is ready to host many events.
The head of the Association of Polish Azerbaijanis, Khalil Hasanov, was presented with the medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan "For service in diaspora activity".
After the opening ceremony, musical pieces of the Azerbaijani and Polish composers were presented.
It should be noted that currently 28 Azerbaijan Houses are operating in 16 countries of the world and these houses host numerous events for promoting Azerbaijani culture abroad and conveying Azerbaijani truths to the world community.
