The holidays of Azerbaijan and Turkiye were marked in the city of Zurich

Zurich hosted a classical music concert “Seven Diamonds”, dedicated to the Turkish traditions. The concert was held within the centenary of the Turkish Republic, the centenary of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, as well as Flag and Victory Days of Azerbaijan.

The members of the diplomatic corps and music lovers attended the event held in “Swiss Arena” and organized through the joint efforts of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Swiss-Azerbaijani Association for Friendship, Culture and Solidarity, and the Zurich Association of Turkish Music.

Speaking before the concert Emre Uygun, Consulate General of Turkiye in Zurich, expressed his gratitude to the organizers and supporters for their invaluable contribution to the strengthening of fraternal and cooperative relations between the Turkic states. He has noted that “Seven Diamonds” is not merely a concert but a promise of a cultural journey that begins in diverse geographical locales and converges upon common roots.

The members of the ensemble, directed by the Azerbaijani composer Elmir Mirzoyev, Meruert Tulenova (flute, Kazakhstan), Erika Varga (clarinet, Hungary), Parvin Ashari (harp, Azerbaijan), Eleonora Kotlibulatova (piano, Uzbekistan), Aiken Aitbay (violin, Kazakhstan), Yagmur Tekin (viola, Turkey) and Nuraim Kolbunova (cello, Kyrgyzstan) presented a concert program called “Seven Diamonds” a title derived from the works (Seven Beauties) of the great 12th-century Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi and the eponymous ballet by the renowned Azerbaijani composer Kara Karayev.

Seven outstanding female performers from the member countries of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary) perfectly embodied the cultural diversity of their nations through the concert “Seven diamonds”.
