The Azerbaijani state attaches special importance to strengthening ties with young Azerbaijanis living abroad and reinforcing their commitment to national and spiritual values.

In line with this policy, the Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth, co-organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, make a significant contribution to strengthening relations of Azerbaijani youth with their homeland, become closely acquainted with the realities of Azerbaijan, and fostering stronger connections among young Azerbaijanis around the world.

The 7th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, which will be held from August 2 to 8, is dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture”.

A total of 123 young people—including Azerbaijanis and representatives of friendly nations—from 64 countries have already arrived in our country to participate in the Camp.

First, the participants visited the grave of Heydar Aliyev, the National Leader of Azerbaijani people, at the Alley of Honour, paid deep respect to the memory of the Great Leader, and laid a wreath at his grave.

Then, they visited the First and Second Alleys of Martyrs, paid tribute to the memory of the heroes of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity.

The young participants were provided with detailed information about the contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to strengthening the Azerbaijani state, preserving national unity, and shaping the country's diaspora policy. They were also informed about the heroism of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity, the historic Victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, and how this triumph laid the foundation for a new stage of the country's development.

After completing their visit program in the capital, the camp participants shared their impressions. Banu Javadova, a student at Bordeaux Montaigne University, expressed her great sense of joy and pride at being in her homeland. She emphasized that the camp would provide a valuable opportunity to build new friendships with young Azerbaijanis from different countries.

Murad Bayramzadeh, a student at Boston University in the United States, noted that his dream of seeing Karabakh had come true and underscored that the 7th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth would be one of the most memorable experiences of his life.

Selen Sultan, who works as an English teacher in Vietnam, said that she was visiting the Martyrs’ Alley for the first time and that being there filled her with both pride and deep emotions.

Mutallim Umudov, a student from Yekaterinburg, Russia, shared his joy at being in his homeland and expressed his eagerness for his first visit to Karabakh.

Within the framework of the camp, which will be held under the motto “Reviving Cities” in the East Zangazur Economic Region, participants will take part in panel discussions, meetings with families of martyrs, diplomats, and cultural figures, training sessions on various topics, intellectual and recreational activities, musical evenings, as well as excursions.

It should be noted that the Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth have previously been organized in the cities of Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, Lachin, and Khankandi. To date, these camps have brought together more than 700 young participants from 84 countries around the world.
