Azerbaijani student successfully representing his country in China
28 April, 2025
During an interview with China's CGTN television channel, President Ilham Aliyev was informed by the host about an Azerbaijani student who had participated in a summer camp in China and subsequently pursued higher education there.
The student, identified as Taghi Mammadov, has been residing in China for over two years. He completed his master's degree at Beijing Institute of Technology and is currently a doctoral candidate at Jiangsu University in Zhenjiang.
Mammadov's interest in China began in 2019 when he attended a summer school program. This experience motivated him to continue his education in the country. He mentioned that he was interviewed by Liu Xin, a prominent journalist at CGTN, on the topic of China's winter economy. They later met in person in Beijing, where Liu Xin inquired about Azerbaijan, and Mammadov provided detailed responses.
In 2024, Mammadov participated in a visit to Shusha organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. He was accompanied by Tang Yuxuan, a student of Azerbaijani language at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Both shared their experiences and information about the visit on social media platforms.
Our compatriots residing in China, including those studying at prestigious universities, contribute to the strengthening of Azerbaijan-China relations and the development of the Azerbaijani community abroad. Their efforts are consistently recognized and supported by the Azerbaijani government.
