London hosted an event dedicated to Heydar Aliyev's centenary

An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Azerbaijan, was held in famous "Chelsea Old Town Hall" in London.

Representatives of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom, members of the local community, communities having friendly attitude towards our country, our compatriots, students of "Karabakh" Azerbaijani weekend school and guests from Azerbaijan attended the event organized by the Society of British Azerbaijanis.

The event, started with the National Anthems of Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom. Video depicting the great leader's visit to London, his speech at the 1st Congress of World Azerbaijanis, and a documentary film " Patron of Great Art " dedicated to the genius leader funded by the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora were screened.

Opening the event, Farida Panahova, head of the Society of British Azerbaijanis reminded that in 1994, during the meeting with the Azerbaijani community at the embassy of our country in Great Britain, Heydar Aliyev called on our compatriots to teach their children our language, history, music, and Azerbaijani lullabies. She has mentioned that the concert program dedicated to his 100th anniversary reflects Heydar Aliyev's valuable advice.  She has also reminded that Heydar Aliyev’s dream have been realized under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the worthy follower of the great leader.

Welcoming the event participants, Salhat Abbasova, department head of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora has told that the 100th anniversary of the great leader is being marked with great pride and solemnity not only in Azerbaijan , but also across the world.

Rashad Vahabzadeh, an employee of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the United Kingdom, spoke about the life path and political activities of the genius Heydar Aliyev.

Students of "Karabagh" school and people's artist Gulyanag Mammadova performed a colorful concert program. The schoolchildren performed "Can Azerbaijan", "Azerbaijan", "Friendship Anthem", "Soldier's March", and Gulyanag Mammadova performed "Always Be in a high", "Long live my people", "My Azerbaijan". ", "I belong to this nation", "Happy Azerbaijan".

At the end of the event, certificates were presented to schoolchildren who congratulated our people and the Azerbaijanis of the world on the occasion of the upcoming Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year.
