Azerbaijani culture was promoted at the University of Illinois

The “International Spotlight” event, dedicated to promoting Azerbaijani culture, was held at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The event was jointly organized by the cooperation of the Azerbaijani Student Association operating at university and the university’s Department of the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
The aim of the event was to familiarize participants with Azerbaijan, its rich culture and national traditions.
At the beginning of the event, a presentation about Azerbaijan was held, providing information about our country’s history, geography, cultural heritage and current development. Then, the participants asked questions about Azerbaijan, and exchanged views. Delicious dishes of Azerbaijani national cuisine were presented. The event continued with music and national dances.
In conclusion, it was highlighted that the event was vital for promoting Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage to an international audience, as well as in fostering cultural diversity within the university environment.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani Student Association operating at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign since 2024, organizes various events to promote Azerbaijani realities and our culture in the USA. Members of the organization, Riyad Babayev and Konul Adigozalova participated in the 2nd Forum of US-Azerbaijani Youth.
