Diaspora youth at Garabagh University

Participants of the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” held in Khankendi, visited Garabagh University.

Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, emphasized the special significance of the visit to Garabagh University and informed the participants about the university’s activities and goals.

Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Garabagh University, gave a detailed video presentation about the university’s founding history, fields of activity, and upcoming priorities. He stated that Garabagh University is developing as a higher education institution not only with regional but also international significance, equipped with modern technologies and built on a contemporary education model.

The Rector provided detailed information about the building’s historical background, current infrastructure, planned academic programs. He pointed out the university’s unique place in Azerbaijan’s higher education system as a center of science and education bearing the name of Karabakh.  He also shared his view on the university’s development strategy, and its recognition on the international stage, especially regarding the attraction of foreign students in the future. He gave broad information about Azikh Center, newly opened at Garabagh University.

Diaspora youth explored the university and met its staff. They asked questions that interested them regarding international ties of the university, the research conducted there, the contributions it can make to the region’s development, the language of instruction, program diversity, admission opportunities and other topics.

It should be noted that the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, which will run from August 3 to 9, is jointly organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The camp brings together 128 young people from 61 countries around the world.  The previous five Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth have been held in the cities of Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, and Lachin. In total, more than 700 young people from over 60 countries have participated in these camps.
