Today the opening ceremony of the Forum of Azerbaijani Scientists living abroad was held in Baku.  The forum was held with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, and the Ministry of Science and Education and organized by the World Union of Azerbaijani Scientists. The more than 80 Azerbaijani scientists from 23 countries, scientists and professors working in various universities of Azerbaijan,

the rectors of prestigious universities participated in the Forum.

Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues Farah Aliyeva, the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov, the Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, President of Azerbaijani National Academy of Science (ANAS) Isa Habibbayli, the rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and a number of public figures and scientists participated.

At the event, was held in the moderation of Academic Rafael Huseynov, began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and the dear memory of our martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country were commemorated with a minute's silence.

Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues Farah Aliyeva read the appeal of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the participants of the Forum. The activity of the Azerbaijani scientists around the world was highly appreciated and success was wished for the work of the forum.

Subsequently, a video showing the care of science and education in our country and the role of our diaspora in this field was shown.

The Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov congratulated the participants, spoke about the importance of the forum, the advantages of networking of Azerbaijani scientists living in different countries and noted that we are always ready to support the expansion of joint activities of our scientists.

The Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev stated that organizing of the meeting of the collectives of Azerbaijan’s higher and secondary schools with the participants would be advantageous and the forum would play an invaluable role in the networking of our scientists.

The rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev expressed the possibility of showing the development of Azerbaijani science around the world by the Azerbaijani scientists living abroad.

Masud Efendiyev, the Head of the World Union of Azerbaijani Scientists, established in the Istanbul meeting of the Azerbaijani scientists living abroad spoke about the importance of the forum and stated the importance of this prestigious event for scientists to combine their knowledge and skills.

Afterward, a video with addresses by Azerbaijani Nobel Prize-winning scientists Aziz Sanjar and Arie Varshel was demonstrated to the forum participants.

Within the framework of the forum, the exhibitions of the carpets and the books were organized by the Ministry of Culture

The forum continues its work with panel discussions.

It should be noted that as part of the forum, the participants will visit the cities of Shusha and Khankendi, and hold discussions with the teaching staff of Karabakh University.
