An event dedicated to the 150th anniversary of prominent statesman and writer Nariman Narimanov was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event was organized by the Memorial Museum named after Nariman Narimanov, the Museum of Culture of Azerbaijan named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov and the Integration Center of Georgian Azerbaijanis (ICGA).
The event, which took place at the Nariman Narimanov Memorial Museum, was opened by Aygul Isayeva, Executive Director of ICGA. Speaking in detail about Narimanov's life and work, the speaker called him a symbol of friendship between the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples.
Then the curator of the Memorial Museum named after Nariman Narimanov Rana Dalivalova, researcher of the Museum of Culture of Azerbaijan named after Mirza Fatali Akhundov Leyla Aliyeva, authorized representative of the Young Patriots Public Union Tengiz Mammadov, editor of the newspaper "Maarif" Aladdin Garabaghli, teacher of Azerbaijani language and literature Fatma Aliyeva and others spoke. They stressed the importance of keeping Nariman Narimanov's name alive in Georgia.
The event continued with the reading a letter addressed to Narimanov's son Najaf bu youth, and performance of member of the Norwegian Azerbaijanis Youth Organization (NAYO) and soloist of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra, kamancha player Shabnam Asifgizi.
The anniversary event ended with a visit to the monument to Narimanov in Marneuli, laying flowers and a wreath in front of it.
