Members of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Ukraine visited the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the park named after Great Leader in Kiev.
The information came from chairman of the United Diaspora of Ukraine Azerbaijanis (UDUA), co-chair of the Rada of Ukraine Azerbaijanis Hikmat Javadov. Hikmat Javadov said that with the participation of members of the Rada of Ukraine Azerbaijanis representing different regions, an event was held on the birthday of the National Leader in front of the monument erected in the park named after him.
Representatives of the diaspora could not celebrate Heydar Aliyev's birthday with large-scale events due to the quarantine regime in Ukraine this year: “It is known that due to the coronavirus pandemic, a special quarantine regime is applied in Ukraine, as well as in Azerbaijan. For this reason, entrance to all parks in the country is prohibited. Nevertheless, at our request, the Kyiv City Hall agreed to a short visit of a limited number of people to the monument erected in the park named after national leader Heydar Aliyev. We laid flowers in front of the monument on behalf of the United Diaspora of Ukraine Azerbaijanis and members of the Rada of Ukraine Azerbaijanis. Not all members attended the event to avoid violating special quarantine rules in the country”.
It should be noted that, the monument to Heydar Aliyev in the park was visited by representatives of the diaspora - co-chair of the Rada of Ukraine Azerbaijanis Hikmat Javadov, his deputy Murad Jafarov and head of the All-Ukrainian Azerbaijani youth organization Damat Asgarov.
