A meeting of Azerbaijani diaspora youth on the occasion of Youth Day is being held in Vienna organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijani Embassy to Austria.
The aim of the project is to bring together Azerbaijani youth living and studying abroad, to strengthen their adherence to the homeland, to increase the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the countries where they live and to strengthen their lobby activities.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Austria Galib Israfilov, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Fidan Yusibova, Executive Director of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora Elshad Aliyev and active members of the Azerbaijani diaspora spoke at the opening ceremony of the project.
The event will feature a video on the activities of the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora and the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora. There will also be discussions on the role of young people in the development of diaspora activities. Within the framework of the project, the working groups will organize debates on “National identity and diaspora policy”, “Entrepreneurship and innovation”, “Cooperation and education”, as well as youth activities in the field of culture, tourism and sports.
Azerbaijani young people from the US, Canada, Russia, Turkey, Israel, China, South Korea, Georgia and Europe attend the meeting. The grandchild of the famous Azerbaijani writer Abdullah Shaig living in Canada Aran Rafipur (Rafie Poor) and grandchild of the famous philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev living in France, Alban Claude will also participate in the meeting.
