In Vienna, the delegation of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora met with the Director of the Federal Office for Immigration and Asylum of Austria Gerhard Reiser.
Chairman of the State Committee Fuad Muradov spoke about the purpose of his visit to Austria and the meetings held there. He mentioned with satisfaction erecting monuments to the great composer Amadeus Wolfgang Mozart in Azerbaijan and the founder of professional Azerbaijani music Uzeyir Hajibeyov in Vienna, Austria's important role in international relations, support to our country's fair position in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The chairman of the committee drew the attention of the director of the Federal Department to the diaspora policy pursued by our state. He noted that, due to the support of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the relevant institution was established in Azerbaijan, in recent years, this movement has reached a new level of development, over 500 diaspora organizations in nearly 50 countries around the world were established.
The sides highly appreciated the role of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Austria in establishing business relations between the two organizations and exchanged views on the future perspectives.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Austria Galib Israfilov also attended the meeting.
