Delegation of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora is on a visit to the Republic of Poland.
During the visit, the delegation firstly visited the “Azerbaijan-Poland Friendship” monument in Gniezno. A wreath was laid in front of the monument.
The Azerbaijani delegation met with mayor of the city Tomasz Budasz. It was noted that, the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Poland have deep historical roots, and this monument is the best example of friendly relations.
Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov thanked the mayor and delegation of Gniezno for the warm welcome and shared his thoughts on the further deepening of warm relations between the two countries, the activities of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Poland and the Polish community in Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Poland Hasan Hasanov attended the event and spoke on the development of Azerbaijan-Poland relations.
It should be noted that, "Azerbaijan-Poland Friendship" monument in Gniezno, the ancient capital of Poland, was erected on the eve of the 90th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev, who has made exceptional contributions to the development of Azerbaijan-Poland relations.
The monument is in the form of oak trees facing each other and the modern political maps of Azerbaijan and Poland were described on the inside. The statements of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev about Poland and statements of Pope John Paul II about Azerbaijan were reflected on the monument.
