The chairman of “Vatanparvar” – Azerbaijani Diaspora Organizations Association in Egypt, researcher-scientist Seymur Nasirov met with Professor Osama al-Abd, Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs and Foundations of the House of Representatives of Egypt, Head of the Egyptian-Azerbaijani Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Secretary General of the Association of Islamic Universities.
The recent increase in the number of Egyptian tourists coming to Azerbaijan was mentioned during the meeting where the development of relations between the two countries was discussed. The Secretary General said that one of the main goals of the Association of Islamic Universities is to coordinate educational institutions in Muslim countries, to facilitate their relations and to hold appropriate events.
It should be noted that, the association's headquarter is located in Cairo, which was founded in 1969 and currently includes 200 universities. The association cooperates with universities all over the world both in the field of scientific research and in the organizing international conferences and other events.
