The Constituent Conference of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis living in the Baltic countries was held in Riga.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia Javanshir Akhundov, Delegation of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, about 100 compatriots living in Baltic countries and Diaspora leaders attended the conference.
Speakers talked about the successful results of Diaspora policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the importance of the unification of Azerbaijanis living abroad around the united idea.
The Chairman of the committee said, "We are invited to the meetings of Coordination Councils established in different countries and we are trying to attend such events. Today's constituent assembly also covers diaspora organizations in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia."
The diaspora leaders and our compatriots delivered speeches on the activities of diaspora organizations operating in the Baltic countries and the efficient organization of the newly established Coordination Council. The speakers reiterated their support for Azerbaijan's diaspora policy.
An interesting and extensive exchange of views was held at the meeting. At the end, coordinators of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis living in the Baltic countries were selected and the principles of the Council's activity were determined.
