Victims of World War II and Shusha martyrs were commemorated in Ukraine

An event marking the 74th anniversary of the end of World War II was held in Berezansk district of Nikolayev region of Ukraine. Our compatriots, diaspora leaders, representatives of Berezansk district administration, war veterans, civil society representatives, head of the department of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Agil Asadov, editor-in-chief of diaspora.info website Almaniz Alakbarli participated at the event organized by the Nikolayev region office of the United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress and the Azerbaijani Culture Educational – Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev,
The head of the representation of Nikolayev region of the United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress Yunis Aliyev spoke about the heroism shown by the people of Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the battle-front. Capitan Colonel N. Gorbatenko, national expert on Nikolayev City Council Anar Akhundov, representatives of the Odessa regional representation of the United Ukrainian Azerbaijanis Congress Anar Agayev, diaspora activist Shamil Ismayilov and others spoke about the horrors of war, heroisms of the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani people in battles.
The head of the department of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Agil Asadov said that the friendship between the Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples is based on ancient history. He briefly informed on the 416th Taganrog division.
The ceremony participants laid flowers at the memorial to the victims of the war.
