"Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" program was presented

Presentation of the program "Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" was held at Nizami Cinema Center. Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the Committee of Milli Majlis on Youth and Sport Ulvi Guliyev , Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intigam Babayev, Executive Director of Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farid Jafarov, representative of Regional Development Public Union under Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamil Aliyev and volunteers attended the event. Before, a video clip about the activities of the organization was presented.
Chairman of the Committee Fuad Muradov said that a great attention by National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the young people, as well as President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev”s idea “My advice is that young people should be encouraged by public organizations. Because, the potential of young people, their activity, and their new views on the issues is very important for society. I advised all government agencies to involve volunteers” at the republican conference dedicated to the Day of Azerbaijani Youth this year resulted in such program.
Speaking about the "Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" program, Fuad Muradov noted that this initiative will play an important role in strengthening of Azerbaijani diaspora movement all over the world. Fuad Muradov said that the issue of rejuvenation of diaspora is on the agenda. From this point of view, the program "Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" is very actual.
Chairman of the Committee of Milli Majlis on Youth and Sport Ulvi Guliyev said that he welcomed the initiative. He said he is glad to participate in the meetings organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. Guliyev noted that being a diaspora volunteer is a very responsible job and he believes that this program will have a positive effect.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intigam Babayev said that patriotism is a main part of recommendations by President Ilham Aliyev to the youth. He said that the volunteer movement in our country is an example for our foreign partners and this activity is highly appreciated in the international arena.
Executive Director of the Youth Foundation Farid Jafarov congratulated the Diasporas Committee and volunteers on the new program: “only in our native language the root of the word “volunteer” based on word “soul”. This is altruistic activity. But volunteers get networking opportunity and new information”. Representative of Regional Development Public Union under Heydar Aliyev Foundation Jamil Aliyev, talked about the activities of Regional Development Public Union and wished success to the diaspora volunteers.
Head of Apparatus of State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Azad Jafarli congratulated diaspora volunteers on behalf of the Agency: ”We look at our volunteers as an integral part of our lives. We have more than 18,000 potential volunteers. Each center has 80-90 volunteers. More than 1,000 volunteers have been employed”.
Elshad Aliyev, executive director of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, gave detailed information about the Fund. He invited every volunteer to cooperate with the Fund and present the project. Coordinator of the "Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" Program Bakhtiyar Rahimov said that 609 young people applied to the program. 95 percent of them live in Baku, 3.5 percent live in the regions, and 1.5 percent are Azerbaijani youth living abroad. Under the program, volunteers will get more information about volunteer activities, the Azerbaijani diaspora movement, the world Azerbaijanis and more. Youth, fully involved in the program will be given a certificate of the SCWD. It should be noted that the motto of "Azerbaijan Diaspora Volunteers" was selected as "One step leads to 1000 steps".
In the end, the officials gave detailed answers to volunteer questions. Chairman of the Committee Fuad Muradov created the opportunity for youth to take advantage of the sincere and democratic atmosphere, and provided them with a chance to get answers to each question.
