Azerbaijani Youth Day was celebrated in Belgium

“The Belgium Azerbaijanis Cultural Center”, a member of the Coordination Council of the Azerbaijanis in Belgium and the Netherlands, brought together Azerbaijani youths from both countries on the occasion of 2 February- Azerbaijani Youth Day in Antwerp. Other member organizations of the Coordination Council also participated in the event to support young people. One of the coordinators of the Coordination Council of the Azerbaijanis in Belgium and the Netherlands, chairwoman of “Ana Vatan” Azerbaijani Women’s Union Maisa Aghamirzayeva congratulated the youth on the occasion of the holiday. M.Agamirzayeva spoke about the newly established Coordination Council and said that the goal is to achieve more productive results by uniting diaspora organizations that operate retail in both countries. She noted that joining of the Belgium Azerbaijanis Cultural Center to Council was also praiseworthy.
Then, the other coordinator of the Council, chairman of EuroAzNl, Emil Aliyev spoke about the recent work of Council and its results. In particular, he underlined that young people supported Council's members in preventing Armenian provocation where Armenians demonstrated the Nagorno-Karabakh as their territory in the tourism fair. Another member of the Coordination Council, Chairwoman of the “Odlar Yurdu” Netherlands-Azerbaijan Society Firangiz Bagirova also spoke about the activities of the organization and stressed the great need for youth support in diaspora activities and thanked the young people who voluntarily decided to be useful for their homeland. Ilkin Huseynov, a member of the Board of the Belgium Azerbaijanis Cultural Center, touched upon another important issue at the event on the occasion of youth day. He suggested to appeal with a statement on behalf of the organization to the European Parliament, the European Court and other influential international organizations which demonstrated biased and dual attitude towards Azerbaijan. A decision was made to appeal with a statement to the European Parliament, the European Court and other influential international organizations on the mentioned issue. The event ended with a screening of a documentary film about Azerbaijanis living in different countries.
