The victims of 20 January tragedy were commemorated in Odessa

A commemoration ceremony was held in Odessa, Ukraine on 20 January. The event participated by compatriots living in Odessa, diaspora members and activists of the Ukraine public, began with a moment of silence to commemorate the victims of tragedy. The head of the Ukraine office of Azerbaijan Railways, Natig Naghiyev, deputy chairman of the Odessa office of United Congress of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine , Namig Talibov, our active compatriot Jalil Astanov, heads of libraries of Odessa city Natalia Klikova, Sofia Sveta and others spoke about the brutal atrocities of the Soviet army against unarmed citizens on the night of 19 to 20 January 1990. It was noted that, the Soviet Army and Armenian gangsters, acted terror against the Azerbaijani people that night. Firstly, Great leader Heydar Aliyev expressed his own attitude to this event. He delivered a speech at a meeting held in the permanent representation of Azerbaijan in Moscow and sharply criticized those who made the case one day after the tragedy.
