An event titled "Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and New Plans and Perspectives in the New Year" was held in Berlin on December 21, 2018. The event was organized by the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Employees of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, our compatriots living in this country, diaspora leaders and representatives of the German public attended the event.
State anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed at the beginning of the event. Coordinator of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Germany Yashar Musayev welcomed the participants and congratulated them on the upcoming holidays. Y. Musayev stressed that the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is a symbol of the spiritual unity of our people and compatriots living all over the world. He expressed his gratitude to the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Germany in Federal Republic of Germany for their support in the event.
Y. Musayev gave information on the factors necessary for the establishment of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Germany and its activities, called German Azerbaijanis for unity and solidarity.
Employee of the Baku Media Center, Tahir Aliyev, welcomed the participants and informed about the documentary film “The last session” made by Baku Media Centre with support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Later, the film shedding light on the last days of the difficult history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) reflecting the difficulty of the final decision of the national government was demonstrated. The film aroused deep interest among the participants.
People and composer songs were performed by Azerbaijani artists invited to the event. Examples of Azerbaijani and European cuisine were presented to the event participants. Various Azerbaijani dances were performed by national dance groups.
